Questions and answers

What is Backlog?

Backlog is one list for the movies, TV shows, games and books you want to get to. Add anything, mark it as Backlog, In Progress or Done, track where you are, and rate it in half stars when you finish.

Is Backlog free?

Yes, completely. No ads, no tracking and no data harvesting. I built Backlog for my own lists and my wife's, and it stays free on iPhone, iPad and the web.

Can I support Backlog?

Yes. Donations help cover development and running costs. You can donate once in the iPhone app: Settings, Support Backlog.

How do new-episode reminders work?

When a show in your library has a new episode or a new season, the iPhone app sends a notification at 6 pm your time. You can mark the episode watched straight from the notification.

Can I import my lists from Letterboxd or Goodreads?

Yes. Backlog imports the Letterboxd data export and the Goodreads library export, as well as any CSV with title, type, status, rating, year and notes columns.

Where does the information about titles come from?

Movies and TV come from TMDB, games from RAWG, and books from Open Library, Google Books and The New York Times bestseller lists.

Is my library public?

No. Your library is private unless you choose to make your profile public. Reviews you write are public unless you make them private.

Free. No ads. No tracking.
