What Goodreads focuses on
Goodreads is a site for readers, owned by Amazon. Members shelve books as Want to Read, Currently Reading or Read, rate and review them, follow friends and take part in the yearly Reading Challenge.
Its huge catalogue and reader reviews make it a common place to look a book up.
What Backlog adds
- One list for four kinds of mediaMovies, TV shows, games and books live side by side in the same library, with the same statuses: Backlog, In Progress and Done.
- Home Screen widgetsUp Next on your Home Screen, with a +1 button to mark the next episode watched without opening the app.
- TV progress and new-episode remindersBacklog keeps your place by season and episode, shows what’s new since you last watched, and the iPhone app can remind you when a show you follow comes back.
Bringing your books over
Backlog imports the Goodreads library export (goodreads_library_export.csv). Books are matched by ISBN first, then by title and author. Read becomes Done, Currently Reading becomes In Progress, To Read becomes Backlog, and your ratings and reviews come across (reviews as private).
