What Letterboxd focuses on
Letterboxd is built around films. Members keep a diary of what they watch, rate and review films, build lists and keep a watchlist, and follow friends to see what they are watching.
Its community reviews and lists are a big part of why people use it.
What Backlog adds
- One list for four kinds of mediaMovies, TV shows, games and books live side by side in the same library, with the same statuses: Backlog, In Progress and Done.
- TV progress and new-episode remindersBacklog keeps your place by season and episode, shows what’s new since you last watched, and the iPhone app can remind you when a show you follow comes back.
- Home Screen widgetsUp Next on your Home Screen, with a +1 button to mark the next episode watched without opening the app.
Bringing your films over
Backlog imports the Letterboxd data export: upload the whole .zip or a single CSV. Watched films and diary entries become Done, your watchlist becomes Backlog, ratings carry over exactly, and reviews come across as private reviews you can publish later.
